Ruth has been involved in Education for over 15 years where she has worked as a Primary School Teacher, School Wellbeing Coordinator, Children’s Pastor, Education Consultant and Casual Relief Teacher. She is a trained Restorative Practices Facilitator and Consultant having worked with schools in both Australia and the USA to implement Restorative Practices across their school communities. Ruth is a facilitator of Love & Logic bringing effective strategies for helping children make great choices in both the education and parenting realm. Ruth is passionate about helping adults create safe places for children to play, learn and be themselves. She works with adults to help children solve behavioural issues and implement strategies to manage groups of children so that less time is spent on managing behaviours and more time is spent doing what is important.
Her experience in the USA where she worked for Hope City in Redding, Calfornia, saw her work in a range of contexts. Ruth worked in Shasta County across a number of school districts in Elementary, Junior High, Middle and High Schools working with schools on whole school discipline, building healthy relationships and resolving conflict. She also worked in the juvenile justice system helping young people go through community conferencing as part of their parole.
In Australia, Ruth has works with primary and secondary schools to implement Restorative Practices into their school culture and helps develop whole school discipline practices. She also works with parents to find effective ways to build healthy relationships and manage conflict and behaviour.
